NOSSCR Congratulates Urban Justice Center on Settlement in Queens Bias Case

Englewood Cliffs, NJ – The National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) congratulates the Urban Justice Center on the approval of a settlement in a class action lawsuit against the Social Security Administration for bias by five Administrative Law Judges in Queens, New York. This is great news for thousands of New Yorkers with disabilities and severe illnesses who will now be entitled to new hearings, the chance to get the vital benefits they may be entitled to, and other important reforms to protect Social Security claimants’ due process rights in the future.

The class was ably represented by Ann Biddle, Esq., Ian F. Feldman, Esq., and Emilia Sicilia, Esq., of the Urban Justice Center, New York, NY; and by Jim Walden and a substantial team of additional lawyers and paralegals at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, in New York, NY, who represented the class on a pro bono basis.
